I was unable to apply this patch. It doesn't appear to be against RC2 itself, but against some subsequent version. Is this true, and if so, where can I obtain those patches? JD -----Original Message----- From: opr...@li... [mailto:opr...@li...] On Behalf Of Maynard Johnson Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2008 6:12 PM To: opr...@li... Subject: [PATCH] Fix for cross-compile error of oprofile 0.9.4 RC Two oprofile users have reported problems cross-compiling oprofile-0.9.4 release candidates -- John Donak and Jean Pihet. This problem was caused by the attempted execution of the bfddefines program that is built during the 'make' process. The purpose of running bfddefines is to set up some constants that hold BFD-related information about the target architecture and write them out to a generated header file. These BFD-related constants are used by libopagent. The execution of bfddefines fails because this program is built with a different target architecture than the host system on which oprofile is being built and on which we're trying to run this program The attach patch resolves this problem by moving the BFD functions from bfddefines into a new function in libopagent. -Maynard |
