I installed tomcat-webapps from the download site. After stopping/restarting and re-running the web-install, I have the same problem, but the errors are gone. Nothing shows up to be managed/unmanaged. The logs look like it is going through my address space, noting things to be polled. The database seems to have info in it since it knows I have found 75 nodes. The events show nodes discovered, scheduled for scan. Curious...., I also made the environment changes, mentioned. What should have created the > 'document base' in tomcat? Ahh, I'm betting what happened is server.xml refers to some of the extra webapps, but the installer doesn't install tomcat4-webapps... try either grabbing the tomcat4-webapps RPM or editing /var/tomcat4/conf/server.xml to remove the references to manager and examples and such. Also, you may need to add "/opt/OpenNMS/lib" to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The easiest way to do this is to edit /etc/tomcat4/conf/tomcat4.conf and add (at the very end): export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/OpenNMS/lib" And, since you're using bleeding edge CVS, you may want to add: export J2SE_PREEMPTCLOSE=1 ...to both the tomcat4.conf and /opt/OpenNMS/bin/opennms.sh (or set it somewhere else in your environment). It looks like our new (way faster) code is exercising the JVM in interesting ways on Linux... there's a weird thread interaction issue between the JVM and linux threads that's fixed with this. We've not worked out what to do about this completely yet, but I thought I'd let you know that trick because otherwise, current CVS is broken and JDBC locks up within a few minutes of starting. -- Benjamin Reed (be...@op...) - http://www.opennms.org/ In other words, any prophecy from God is guaranteed to be accurate, and any prophecy which is not from God but given in his name shall guarantee the death of the prophet.
