I found the problem!!!!! You were definitely right about the log messages. I'm an idiot, I was reading events from an old log (I didn't even check the date on it). I downloaded everything from source anyway because I wanted to make sure, and I want to say that you have the slickest build process I have ever seen, hands down! The only thing I can say would compete is the linux kernel. But going through the logs I noticed that the dhcp monitor was dieing because the address was already in use. I don't run a dhcp server, but do run a dhcp client to get my address. Once I killed that and set up my address statically, IT WORKED!!!! This isn't a great solution because I still need dhcpd at some point, but now we know where the bug lies. If anyone else is having this problem, check in the manager.log for the dhcp service dieing and try killing your dhcp client. It worked for me. Dan Elder, Software Developer, Novacoast, Inc.
