One day gone without post showing up on openmosix-general list. So I try=20 again - here goes... Hi, I've been running a setup of LTSP and openmosix (LTSP server + 15 diskless clients) for a while now. It's all been working just great. Until ... Reading up on changes for the latest kernel patch I figured it to be so promising that I decided to go for a kernel upgrade (problems regarding tmpfs and MFS wasn't concerning my setup, or at least so I tought) Well - surely this mail wouldn't go if it wasn't for - problems: When booting a LTSP-client (openmosix-patched kernel 2.4.19-2, mfs enabeled, no tmpfs but devfs and ramdisk enabeled) problem starts - the system creates a ramdisk (no errors on mk2efs), mounts it at /tmp (still no errors on console) copies files to /tmp - !BANG! _permission denied_ - system cannot copy files to /tmp... Long way going this, but here goes - does 2.4.19-2 with MFS enabled break ramdisk or devfs? Also - shutdown of system is not possible (seems to be hanging on an unmount) - what's causing this? Anyways - server (same 2.4.19-2 patched kernel) boots fine and seems to be much more responsive than earlier om-enabled ones. Would very much like to keep it this way so ... Help on how to solve these ones is much appreciated! Regards, Sture --=20 Sture Lygren Driftsansvarlig / System Administrator And=F8ya Rakettskytefelt AS http://www.rocketrange.no/ |
