Category: Dynamic Simulator plugin Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: elango (elangoc) Assigned to: Lars Wetzel (larswetzel) Summary: openhpid segfaults when dyn_simulator is initialized. Initial Comment: The openhpi daemon segfaults while accessing NULL pointer, Steps to re-produce. Run the openhpid with oa_soap plugin enabled, configure openhpi.conf for active and standby OA\'s. Collect the output of hpigensimdata into a file normally \'simulation.data\'. Stop the plugin and make modifications to the openhpi.conf to run only the dyn_simulator and specify the file location of the currently captured file (simulation.data). Start the openhpi deamon, you will see the daemon segfaults accessing the NULL pointer. (/var/log/messages) For reference, I am attaching the simulation.data and the openhpi.conf file along this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: elango (elangoc) Date: 2011-03-15 11:49 Message: I shall close this bug, will open a new bug on hpigensimdata/plugin upon further investigation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Anton Pak (avpak) Date: 2011-03-11 04:14 Message: Can it be hpigensimdata bug? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Lars Wetzel (larswetzel) Date: 2011-03-10 13:09 Message: Hi Elango, the failure is in the simulation.data file: - Please delete the first two lines until CONFIGURATION (it's not nice) - then line 837 (Textfield of resource {SYSTEM_CHASSIS,8}{COOLING_UNIT,1}) : There is an invalid character in the text field: Thermal Subsystem^@ <- Delete it - change DataLength to 17 and everything works fine. For this reason the plugin behaves as expected and I want to close this issue. What do you mean?
