Currently I am researching internet fax to integrate with OpenEMR. Personally I don't prefer the hylafax. So can you recommend which product would be the good choice? I need a sample application written in PHP with UI provided for incoming and outgoing. Thank you for your help in advance.

why don't you look into ringcentral.com
Does Ringcentral provide API to integrate? I visited the site and looks like a just service provider. I need a toolkit for managing fax. thanks.

Is the maxemail hippa compliant since it uses email to handle faxes?

They sign BAA's and the price is reasonable.
I would prefer another method. I do not use a PBX and this seems to be the best option outside of something like Ringcentral.
