I have some questions about analog vs digital. Basically what does it mean in terms of what the ups and downs are of the unit? I found lots of information from various sources about theoretical aspects of the digital and analog EEG, even some differences on how the software or hardware needs to handle them. But nothing really of relevance that would allow a noob like me a make a decision in what I need for the sake of purchasing. A few questions floating around in my head are: 1. Is analog better quality? Digital seems like it transforms the signal somewhat from its original means. Could this diffrence be heard in audible quality, for example if you put the eeg signal into speaker (yes of course after translating the signal into the audible range and then amplifying it etc. etc.) Would they sound the same? 2. Is there some difference in what the application is? Does certain aspects of software only work with digital or analog? 3. What do people generally use and why? Thanks for your help. Brendan |
