> "Do not doubt that a small group of dedicated individuals can change = the world. Indeed, that is all that ever has." -- Margaret Me I think this quote/poem (which is anonymous to me) is appropriate here. When no man seeks,=20 Then no man finds, Where no man looks,=20 Then all are blind. I'm new to the group and thought I'd chime in. I have no qualifications = other than a technician level knowledge and experience with software = programming and electronics so if that bothers you then please dismiss = my comments in this regard as rubbish from an uneducated fool. I recently built this wonderful device which I really haven't gotten = much chance to experiment with, but intend to sortly. Great job to all = those that contributed to this project BTW. It's a great design. The whole time I was building this incredible device I was thinking = "Wow! Wouldn't it be great if there was an open source TMS project to = really explore this new frontier in consciousness we're witnessing." Then someone made one. To me that's significant because it means that there are other = like-minded individuals out there who are just too damn curious to wait = for the mainstream to explore these areas for us. Foolish perhaps, but then no-one has built a thing yet. At this point = it's just a concept after all. I bet the first human to capture fire burnt his/her hand and then I bet = those in his group thought he/she was crazy and feared for his/her = safety. I can imagine being the first human in my clan to consume a newly = discovered plant, wondering what/if any reactions I may have but = realizing it was necessary in order to promote the knowledge of my = group. I guess I feel that perhaps basic human curiosity will prompt someone to = do this sort of thing sooner or later regardless of the potential = dangers. Perhaps for a public project like this, the initial dialog = should be about safety first and foremost which is kind of what I see = happening here. May I suggest that this great conversation on TMS safety be moved to the = newly created Open-rTMS list. Send Open-rtms-list mailing list submissions to ope...@li... I would love to see some comments from professionals in the medical = fields as to the possible dangers and potential ways of at least = diminishing these possibilities. |
