Hi I got some questions about the new interface so I'll answer them here to share with everyone. > is it FTDI based still? Yes, we decide to stick to the ftdi chip and add a MCU because the FTDI chip is very easy to program and has drivers for just about every OS around. cheaper/more compact solutions were available (eg:USB micros) but as usual all the drivers and examples are very Windows centric. For the "ultimate" DMX USB interface this was not what we wanted, besides the current widget already works very well under Windows. >what will it look like? black box with 2 DMX connectors (Male & female) on one side and 1 USB connector on the other I stress it only has ONE dmx port, the 2 connectors are wired together. >will i be able to make VB drivers for it? Writing driver will be easier than for the current widget, you can talk to it at any speed using any interface d2xx or vcom. There will be a simple API >when will it be available? in a few weeks Nicolas www.enttec.com |
