Legbites and Playatelians - [I thought this went our 48 hours ago.] The man man burns in 363 days. We can't stay our here all year, as much as some of us might like to, so it is time to start tearing down and packing up. We start today by taking down the sites at Above the Limit, Playagon and the Airport. We will leave Papa Legba and Playatel up until tomorrow. Because the tower at Playagon is dangerous to climb, we should try to coordinate with their tear-down plan. I know that several groups in our network are collecting different kinds of data. These are the ones that I am aware of: * The logs on Legba contain all of the GSM L3 and SIP traffic for the entire network. * During the time we were using Asterisk, it generated CDRs, also on Legba. * Toll Free and Information have usage logs for their SMS and IVR applications. They have also been trying to interview users for their experiences. * The Luscious Prince has logs for Tropo routing to and from the default world. (BTW - When he returns to the default world, he will be "The Tropo Developer Formerly Known as the Luscious Prince.) * Team Playatel have been putting GPS tracking devices on their art cars and collecting the data via SMS. Are there any other data sources or logs in this network that we want to preserve? I would propose that we all share our raw data and any resulting reports. Raw data should not be released publicly, for privacy reasons, but can be shared privately among those of us already involved in the network operations. We just need a mechanism, like maybe a shared SFTP server. It would also be good if each group involved could produce some kind of publicly distributable report, even if it's just a blog post giving a summary of your findings. Also, some thanks and other comments: * Several people commented over the course of the week on the skill and performance of the Papa Legba team. I'd like to thank everyone who came to work in the camp, in whatever capacity. * We'd like to thank Ralf, our champion within the NOC. * We'd like to thank our sister camp, Playatel. That's about it for now; we have a long 48 hours ahead of us. See you on the playa, or maybe somewhere in the default world, David ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
