one of the "checkin criteria" I have been pushing since the beginning of MipsPro/Open64 is that it should inherently "encourage" checkin. IOWs, we don't want bureacracy gets in developer's way. Hence, a gatekeeper's role is to make the right call for levels of testing for any checkin. I believe time has proven me right (and I am taking the liberty of assuming that Suneel, Fred, Mike, Shin and folk from the old days concur.
