Andrew, It looks as though I still had a process running from ages ago before I = configured the cisco router. Although there was nothing in the /var/run = directory showing. I have killed the process and it is now trying to authenticate. = Unfortunately a network outage means that I can't test the radius server = at present !! Anyway, thanks for you help, appreciate the quick response, hopefully it = will work when I can test it. Cheers Mike -----Original Message----- From: ope...@li... Which socket is xsupplicant trying to = initialize ?? The relevant code is in xsup_ipc.c - I'm guessing the socket is used for InterProcess Communication (IPC). Specifically, xsupplicant is attempting to bind to what I believe is 127.0.0.1 port 26798. From xsup_ipc.c: sa.sin_family =3D AF_INET; sa.sin_addr.s_addr =3D htonl(INADDR_LOOPBACK); sa.sin_port =3D htons(26798); It might pay to check that nothing else is using that port. What is the output of "netstat -an | grep 127.0.0.1" prior to running xsupplicant? Normally, I'd suspect that there were multiple instances of xsupplicant running, but this shouldn't be possible (it checks /var/run/xsupplicant and bails out).
