Patrick - Which driver are you using? The dmesg output almost looks like the "linux-wlan.org" driver. If that is the case, I might suggest you look at the hostap driver instead. Few (if any) people have been able to get the linux-wlan.org driver to work correctly. I think this may be in part that the linux-wlan.org driver doesn't use the Linux wireless extensions.
