In recent years - and with Mavericks in particular - it feels like our PowerPlant/Carbon legacy app is falling apart.. and the symptoms are become harder to fix with every release. (Ancient) APIs just stop working with no chance of having them fixed. I'm amazed QuickDraw based drawing code still works up to 10.9 but that will no doubt change soon enough. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Get out of PowerPlant land as quickly as possible. Mavericks was quite a scary release if you're a carbon based life form and it makes me shudder thinking of what's ahead in terms of 10.10 later his year... Just my 2c! Cheers, Jay |
