We've already improved the makestring() method on array to allow the delimiter to be an arbitrary string. I'm redoing the string makearray class, and figured this might be a good thing to add here also. Currently, the delimiter can only be a single character string. It should be possible to "round trip" makestring/makearray (assuming no overlaps between the delimiter and the data). This is a fairly easy restriction to lift, except for the question of what to do with a "" delimiter. I see 3 potential candidates: 1. Make this an error 2. Have it match between every character, so makearray() with "" will return the string as an array of 1-character strings. 3. Apply the parse matching rule for "". This would result in an array containing 1 element....the target string. Rick |
