Greetings Mark- I see a case insensitive switch to SysFileTree as a good thing indeed! I assume you either UPPER or lower the filespec, and also each dir being considered, then see if it rings true to be included in the result set? I further assume, you end up needing to perform a '*' query of the OS FS, and pattern match in SysFileTree rather than sending the filespec directly to the OS to handle itself. So, given a directory of say 100000 or even 1M files, how much of a speed penalty is added for this new whiz-bang feature?
