Category: External Functions Group: 3.2.0 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Assigned to: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Summary: ooDialog - setFocus method implemented incorrectly Initial Comment: In ooDialog, the DialogExtensions class has a setFocus method to set the focus to the control of the user's choice. The implementation for this bypasses the dialog manager by going directly to the window manager. This is subtly wrong for two reasons. One, it can produce behavior in an ooDialog dialog that is different from the behavior of all other dialogs the user is accustomed to. Which can be confusing to the user and will seem wrong. Two, it can result in situations that should be "impossible," like having a push button with the focus that is not the default button. Then when a user hits enter, the default button is clicked, not the button with the focus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=684730&aid=1735330&group_id=119701 |
