Category: External Functions Group: v4.0beta >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Brian Jongekryg (jnairb) Assigned to: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Summary: WindowsRegistry open fails with ALL/default access Initial Comment: The attached program shows a failure on Windows XP (SP 3) trying to open a registry key using the default access -- e.g. "r~open(r~Current_User, "SOFTWARE")". The same call worked with ooRexx 3.2. Changing the call to set the access mode to "READ" works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2009-04-15 22:11 Message: Committed revision 4399. Brian, this will be fixed in the next build. We really appreciate your testing. I'll probably update the Windows build tomorrow morning since we have fixed a couple of Windows bugs now. If I do I'll post a message. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2009-04-15 21:54 Message: Brian, It looks like a bug to me. Don't change too many programs yet - it should be fixable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Brian Jongekryg (jnairb) Date: 2009-04-15 21:50 Message: No, I had several programs that started failing because the registry "open" failed -- they worked before updating to ooRexx 4.0 (at least within the past week so definitely still on SP3) and failed afterwards. Adding the "READ" access is a relatively painless workaround for me, I think. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2009-04-15 21:40 Message: Brian, First off, thanks for testing and opening up these issues. I'll take a look at this. Microsoft keeps tightening up their security. Is it possible that your program worked with 3.2.0 on XP with SP 2? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=684730&aid=2767480&group_id=119701 |
