This is a forwarded message from The Plant Ontology Consortium mailing list. Thanks Pankaj -------- Original Message -------- Subject: First release of the Growth and Developmental Stages Ontology Date: Thu, 28 Apr 2005 15:04:54 -0700 (PDT) From: Katica Ilic <ka...@ac...> Reply-To: po...@pl... To: po-...@pl... First release of the Growth and Developmental Stages Ontology We are pleased to announce the first release of controlled vocabulary terms describing the whole plant growth stages of a 'generic' flowering plant. This aspect of the Plant Ontology encompasses Arabidopsis, soybean, maize rice and Triticaceae. The new release also includes over 400 gene annotations from two participating databases, Gramene and TAIR. The updated version of Plant Ontology can be viewed and queried using our ontology browser, the Plant Ontology AmiGO (URL: http://www.plantontology.org/amigo/go.cgi). An additional set of controlled vocabulary terms describing plant organ developmental stages is currently being developed by POC, with anticipated release date during this summer. We hope that Plant Ontology is becoming a useful tool for the plant research community, and that diverse groups including plant breeders, geneticists and researchers involved in large scale genomics projects will benefit from using this resource. Please feel free to contact us with your suggestions and requests for new terms in the Plant Ontology. Best regards, Plant Ontology Consortium E-mail: po...@pl... http://www.plantontology.org |
