Yes, I can seem to get CygWin's "dd" to work ok on my
"a:" drive, but for those who may not want to go
through the hassle of a full CygWin install it would be
great, as the CygWin setup program is quite painful
with it's lack of memory and tendency to automatically
add things which you've already removed simply by
adding something else which may or may not even have a
dependency relation.

Simply the features "bs", "count", "skip" and "seek"
would give one all the power and tweakability required
for creating those unique disks, with different info at
different offsets. "if" and "of" syntax might also be
a simpler option to "image", "drive" and "reverse", for
power users. "cbs", "conv", "ibs" and "obs" are
options which I have never used in my 10 short years of
computing with UN*X. They may or may not be of use to
someone.

The advantage of the "verify" command is not having to
write a shell script wrapper around "dd" which does a
write and a read to or from floppy or hard drive,
comparing to the original image on the hard drive or
floppy. It could even be dubbed "NTdd" in addition to
NTRawrite.
