Subject: [Ns-developers] Mac802_11 random backoff patch

Dear ns-developers,
as announced on the ns-users mailing list some months
ago there is an
inaccuracy between the IEEE 802.11 code and the
specification. The
random backoff is selected out of [0, cw_), but the
specification
_includes_ cw_, thus it should be [0, cw_]. This bug
leads to a better
throughput than actually possible. I'd highly
appreciate any comment on
that. See attached a patch that modifies all random
backoff selection of
Mac802_11.
regards,
Enrico M.
