NS2 is mature simulator for network simulator and it helps us a lot in network research projects. But still we need to make it more real-time, actually I am thinking that it should be emulator now, I expect it in future version, that NS2 team will launch a network emulator. I know it's a big deal but by time we can evaluate it.
