Category: Build System Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Angelo Borsotti (borsotti) Assigned to: Amir Szekely (kichik) Summary: uninstaller does not remove start menu folder on Windows 7 Initial Comment: I have built an app with its installer and uninstaller. When run, the uninstaller removes the installation directory. However, it does not remove the associated subdirectory in the Start Menu folder. I have seen this bug solved in Windows Vista, but not in Windows 7. Version of NSIS: v2.46 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Anders (anders_k) Date: 2012-12-04 08:19 Message: You normally have to be admin to change things in ProgramData (This might not apply to programs that are a part of Windows since they can bypass UAC) Please add RequestExecutionlevel to your script... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Angelo Borsotti (borsotti) Date: 2012-12-03 23:08 Message: I have seen http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Shortcuts_removal_fails_on_Windows_Vista. However, in my case after running the uninstaller, and seeing that it did not remove the shortcuts, I can delete them with Windows Explorer (the ones located in c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs). If I can delete them, so could the uninstaller without raising its privileges, or asking the user to run it as an administrator. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Anders (anders_k) Date: 2012-11-26 22:19 Message: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Shortcuts_removal_fails_on_Windows_Vista ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373085&aid=3590052&group_id=22049 |
