Hello, I could install the novel client on suse 9 without any problems. Ncpfs is the version ncpfs-2.2.4-25.7. When I am giving my tree and the server as in my windows client I am getting an error message like " The server sop.pitt.edu is under the tree University of Pittsburgh and you are not authenticated". But I could log in to the novel client from the windows. Am I doing anyting wrong? Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi, I have been trying to mount a drive on my university server onto my machine in my room, I was managing fine from the command line, but I wanted to find a more user friendly way of doing it so I decided to try this novell client. The problem I am having is that after installing the novell client, the slist command does not work, even when I specify ipx_configure --auto_interface=on --auto_primary=on it still will not work. Has anyone got any ideas on how to sort this out? Stuart |

The newest version of ncpfs allows tree based authentication but until it is included with most distributions this will have to do. Ken |

Hi, My install went fine. However, when I specify my Tree and my Context, but no Server (just like on my Windows client), I am prompted with a popup window: Choose a server to connect to [OK] What's wrong? I know we always use the Tree paradigm instead of the Server paradigm here... Thanks for any info, Phil |
