Hi,
Notepad++ sends NPPN_SHUTDOWN when all files are already closed.
It would be very convenient to have a notification (NPPN_BEFORESHUTDOWN) informing that Notepad++ is going to close all files and shut down.
Is it possible?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:

"Session Manager does not immediately save the current session when a file is closed. It must determine whether a shutdown is in progress, in which case all files will be closed but we don't want to save the session then. When Notepad++ is about to shutdown it sends file-closed notifications before it sends the shutdown notification. To work around this, when a file is closed Session Manager waits for saveDelay seconds. If the shutdown notification has not been received at the end of that time then the current session is saved".
A nice workaround though it is some kind of prosthesis. With NPPN_BEFORESHUTDOWN notification all these problems would never arise.

I think it's worth idea to be implemented. You may contact Don HO directly regarding the proposal to add NPPN_BEFORESHUTDOWN.
Thanks DV!
I'm pretty sure Don drops here from time to time.
He is very busy man for sure.
I'll humbly wait for an answer.
I too vote for a beforeshutdown notification :)
