    win xp sp3
    notepad++ v 6.6.7

    Settings - Preferences - New Document
    UTF-8 without BOM - is chosen
    Apply to opened ANSI files - is checked

    Still when I create a new file and check in menu - Encode - Encode in ANSI is marked and not Encode in utf-8 without BOM.

    How can I automatically set Encode in utf-8 without BOM on each new created file?

    Hello Bonaca,

    Very strange ! I do have the same configuration ( XP SP3 ) and the same [ default ] parameters for New Document, like you, on N++ v6.6.6 and, as you can note on the attached picture Bonaca.png, the new-1 file is correctly opened, with the UTF-8 without BOM encoding !?

    Best Regards,
