Hi all, I'm working on getting a lot of genealogical data out onto the web as RDF, but in order to preserve source information I'm making heavy use of named graphs. For example, a deceased person, represented by a URI, might have a dozen statements about him or her (name, gender, birth, etc.) in as many named graphs. There would then be a statement connecting the name of each graph with the source from which the information in that graph came. That statement is in another graph which might have associated source information, and so on, allowing a hierarchy of sources. Anyway, to make a long story short, this poses a problem for publishing on the web. It's trivial to create a proprietary web service for accessing this information, but what I'd really like is to be able to dereference URI's to get the RDF data in TriX or TriG form in a standard way. Because so much related data is scattered across so many graphs, it doesn't seem very efficient to split it out into RDF/XML files which must each be accessed. Has anyone done any work in this area? Are there any recommendations? I'd like to see this data accessible by other semantic web applications, such as Disco for example. Does TriX/TriG have much of a following/future? Thanks, Hilton Campbell P.S. - If this isn't the right place to discuss this, is there another mailing list I should post on? |
