Hello list I'm having trouble with the network trash on one of my shared volumes. The first person who tries to throw something from the volume into the trash becomes the owner of "Network Trash Folder" and can subsequently use the trash. However, anyone else can not use the trash and has to immediately delete items. I looked in the FAQ and it said Q22: I'm having problems with the Trash folder: either when someone drags files into it, the system wants them to delete them immediately, or files get stuck in there and won't delete. A: Chmod the Network Trash folder to 2775 (/home/public/Network Trash Folder for instance). I tried this, but still only the owner of Network Trash could use the trash. I also tried chmod 664 "Trash Can Usage Map", but still it only works for the Trash owner. Any other suggestions? Details: netatalk 1.5.5 compiled from source on Debian 3.0 (woody/stable). Client Macs are all running OS 9. -- Kurt Yoder Sport & Health network administrator |
