FYI- This is a response from Apple regarding my bug report (on behalf of the Baltra project) that OS-X is very particular about how it reads AppleDouble files (i.e. the ._filename files). This was fustrating because it required us to strip out all of Netatalk's supported AD objects except for the two which OS-X wanted (FinderInfo and ResourceFork, which had to be in that order) if we wanted to access the files in a way other than via Netatalk. I haven't tested to see if a regular Netatalk AD version 2 file is handled correctly by OS-X (or vice versa) now, but this is encouraging to hear at least.
