I'm not fussed about a physical disk flush, if the kernel has crashed then you've got bigger problems than debugging netatalk. I thought there was something wrong with fflush? (or am I going mad) I seem to remember there was a reason why I was told not to use it (bad libraries or compiler on some platform). Again, I could just be going mad. BTW, can you call fflush with open handles? I'd much rather have mile-wide meteorites that the embarasment of a critcal failure in logging code written by me. Honest. There are a load of things that could be sorted if we had a master process that could single thread some things. As an asside this process could solve some of these security issues. Logging isn't critical, but it would be nice to have it done as a single, identifiable user. Simon |
