I have a small network with 2 mac OS X (10.1.26), 1 mac 9 and a linux server with netatalk (last update). All is fine with Mac OS9 and the linux server. With each Mac OS X, I have the following troubles: I open some Word documents on the linux box. After a few minutes, Word crashes, the Volume on the server is unmounted. In /var/log/messages of the linux box, I have the message : afpd[9252]: server_child[1] 22863 killed. If I connect again the volume, no more Word icons on the files previously opened in Word. To recover the file, I have to open Word, load the files from the server, save locally on the desktop and move from the desktop to the server. If I open Word, load the files from the server and save to the server, I have a crash of Word, disconnect from the mounted volume and sometimes a message: too many open files The problem occurs always after 5 or 10 minutes of Word. We cannot reproduce with Excel. Is it a specific problem of Word X with Appletalk, a problem of netatalk or ... ? Any ideas? -- Jean-Max Reymond email: jmr...@fr... tel: 33 (0)6 16 94 25 11 http://jmreymond.free.fr/Etna2002 |
