Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Submitted By: Jan Iven (iven) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: allow to turn SMUX on/off via config file Initial Comment: Currently, if snmpd has been configured for SMUX support, it will get started unconditionally and open port 199/tcp. There appears to be no easy way to turn it off, the FAQ has something about intentionally misconfiguring it to prevent it from starting.. (http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/FAQ.html#How_can_I_turn_off_SMUX_support_ ) Hasso Tepper has written a patch that prevents SMUX from starting unless explicitly configured in the config file: http://lists.quagga.net/pipermail/quagga-dev/2004-October/001617.html Patch is at http://lists.quagga.net/pipermail/quagga-dev/attachments/20041012/6069a906/ht-20041012-smux.bin and attached. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Dave Shield (dts12) Date: 2006-01-30 09:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=88893 This patch appears to be aimed at the SMUX peer applications, rather than the Net-SNMP agent itself. As such, it doesn't seem to be relevant here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=312694&aid=1374283&group_id=12694 |
