Category: agent Group: aix Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 4 Submitted By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Summary: 5.3.1.pre1 on AIX: static/shared trouble Initial Comment: Building 5.3.1.pre1 with the nsb scripts on any AIX machine I've got access to (4.3.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3) yields to an agent that segfaults on startup, even on a simple "agent/snmpd -H" from the build dir. I've tried both the vendor compiler and gcc 4.0.2 and followed README.aix's advices. Here's the gdb backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x2009a208 in netsnmp_ds_set_boolean () from /home/anders/build/5.3.1.pre1/agent/.libs/libnetsnmpagent.a(libnetsnmpagent.so.10) (gdb) bt #0 0x2009a208 in netsnmp_ds_set_boolean () from /home/anders/build/5.3.1.pre1/agent/.libs/libnetsnmpagent.a(libnetsnmpagent.so.10) #1 0x200add7c in init_agent () from /home/anders/build/5.3.1.pre1/agent/.libs/libnetsnmpagent.a(libnetsnmpagent.so.10) #2 0x10000ef8 in main () ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2006-05-08 17:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 We've tracked it down to (initially) be an issue with the nsb scripts: "-x" also activates "--enable-shared". It now doesn't anymore. This leaves us with at least one question: Why does the "whether using AIX and if we should disable shared libraries" configure check fail to work? It obviously doesn't forcibly turns off shared libs, although it should. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=1483709&group_id=12694 |
