Category: build/test Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Submitted By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: "make test" opens default AgentX/SMUX sockets and *:876[45] Initial Comment: "make test" may currently interfere with active services on the system because: - snmptrapd connects to /var/agentx/master (or the configure-chosen equivalent) - SMUX is initialized with the default settings (if enabled), i.e. opens port 199 - what else? This is a Bad Thing To Do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2006-02-16 01:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 I've just fixed the first issue (snmptrapd connects to /var/agentx/master) for 5.2+. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2006-02-06 18:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 Last not least most tests access /var/net-snmp which should be avoided also. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2006-02-05 00:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 Furthermore (and even worse) we run the test agent on "udp:8765", i.e. make it listen on *all* interfaces! Similar for snmptrapd on udp:8764. This is both unnecessary (udp:localhost:8765 is enough) and a security risk since we use a fixed configuration (community strings!, v3 passwords!, port number). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=1424293&group_id=12694 |
