It would be great if it were possible to print a file
using the same highlight patterns that are used
during editing (where "print" is just another word
for "generating a PostScript file", of course ;-). It
would make the printed form of a source file much
more readable than plain black text.

    enscript -2rG -C -E -M A4 file.c

    It might solve most of your wishes.

    Highligt inspection macros are now in CVS, so it's now
    possible to write a macro for say, exporting HTML with
    corerct formatting. If done well, I think this is such a good
    demo of the new functionality (and such a much-requested
    feature) that it should be part of the standard macro set in the
    next release. If someone writes it, of course.
