It would be pretty handy to have a "detach" flag
for shell_command() so that detaching a
process can be requested explicitly.

Closing all file descriptors is something one can
easily get wrong. When using the Bash shell,
that won't even work at all and one has to
employ additional utilities such as 'screen' to
detach a process startet by a macro or from the
shell menu.

    For csh there isn't a problem. However an optional parameter
    for the shell_command function that directly returns would
    indeed be good and a simple hack to do.
