With incremental backup deactivated:
I have 2 files in same directory. E.g. lwo.html and ~lwo.html Load, edit and save lwo.html File ~lwo.html has now been deleted.

I've fixed it in CVS. Incremental backup files are now left alone when incremental backup is deactivated.
