At Giri's suggestion, I tried the following: 1. Recompiled my kernel with the 16K stack size patch from here: <http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/wlan/full/archive/linux-2.6.7-16kstacks.patch> (and recompiled ndiswrapper for the new kernel). This did not help. I get the same keyboard freeze. 2. Installed the firmware files described here: <http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/INSTALL>. This did not help either. Same results. However, I want to make sure I did this correctly. I followed the instructions in the ipw2200 doc (unpacked the files to /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/, ensured CONFIG_FW_LOADER was enabled in my kernel, ensured I have /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent, and ensured /sys was mounted). Then I did modprobe ndiswrapper and the usual to configure wlan0. That's it. Was I supposed to recompile ndiswapper or configure it somehow to recognize the firmware files? The ipw2200 docs didn't specify. Marc |
