Hi! I've been trying to get my Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 BG (Revision 05) working for about 2 days straight now, and it's driving me nuts. The IPW2200 driver doesn't work at all, so I'm going with ndiswrapper. I have a Compaq Presario X1300 with a Pentium-M 1.4 GHz (a 'Centrino' platform notebook.) I am running Debian Testing (sarge) distribution with a 2.4.26 kernel, but have also tried 2.6.5, 2.6.6, and 2.6.7. In 2.4.26, I downloaded and compiled the sources for ndiswrapper and compiled. For kernel sources to link against, I set /lib/modules/2.4.26/build to /usr/src/linux, the location of the sources I built the running kernel from. I did make, make install, and tried loading a driver, the one recommended on the ndiswrapper page for my card. I later tried other drivers to no avail. Upon doing modprobe nsdiswrapper I get an error to this general effect: PCI: Guessed IRQ 11 for Device 02:02.0 .. then the system locks up! I tried reinstalling the kernel, the entire OS, even, and still get this. I don't know of any way around this. The device is indeed located at 02:02.0 but I do not know its IRQ or how to specify the correct one, if it's getting it wrong. In Kernel 2.6.x, I had a problem wherein any module I compiled, like for ipw2200, ndiswrapper or DriverLoader, could not be INSMOD'ed. I would get an error stating "Insmod: xxxxxx.ko (Invalid Module Format)." I forced the modules into the kernel (despite much griping), after which point I had an eth2 interface in iwconfig that would not accept any options (Operation Not Supported whenever I entered any config commands.) DriverLoader's web interface reported that no windows driver I loaded was working (No Devices Found error.) So I guess I'm stuck with 2.4 and pretty much screwed. If anyone can offer some assistance I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. -- Deven Gallo __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo!
