Greetings, I'm trying to use ndiswrapper 1.50 in Fedora 8 to use the built-in Atheros chipset based wireless in an Acer Travelmate 2480 laptop. I have no problems installing the windowsXP driver, however as soon as I do "modprobe ndiswrapper", there's an immediate crash. Unfortunately, since this is a notebook, there is no serial console, so the best I can do is attempt to transcribe the backtrace that appears on the screen when the system dies: wrap_pnp_start_device [ndiswrapper] wrap_pnp_start_pci_device [ndiswrapper] sysfs_create_link sysfs_addrm_finish kobject_get pci_match_device pci_device_probe driver_probe_device __driver_attach __driver_attach bus_for_each_dev driver_attach __driver_attach bus_add_driver __pci_register_driver loader_init [ndiswrapper] wrap_procfs_init [ndiswrapper] wrapper_init [ndiswrapper] sys_init_module disable_irq syscall_call BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 6c6c6163 printing eip: c0406292 *pde = 00000000 Recursive die() failure, output suprressed I get the same exact crash even when using an 8k stacks kernel. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ L.
