ok, here is the problem. ndiswrapper-1.0rc3 installed cleanly on Fedora Core 3 using kernel 2.6.9-1.667, and the source code is fine. However, I installed my wlan driver (NETGEAR MA521, using the latest XP drivers). when I do this: [root@localhost sbin]# /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -l Installed ndis drivers netma521 driver present, hardware present its there and everythings present. I set up my wlan0 using the fedora network connection gui and rebooted the computer. First of all it gave me an error sayint that MAC wasn't supported anymore. Then I went into my network configuration and unchecked the "Bind to MAC address" box, rebooted, and ever since than the wlan0 has disappeared (this was the big problem I came up with). now when I do: [root@localhost sbin]# /sbin/iwconfig wlan0 wlan0 No such device its not there....but when I type in /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -l, the driver is installed fine, same output as stated previously. I went back to see if the card was listed in 'ifconfig -a' and it wasn't. this was fedora's response: [root@localhost sbin]# /sbin/ifconfig -a eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:3F:32:5B:48 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:10 Base address:0xe200 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:1664 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:1664 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:1778738 (1.6 MiB) TX bytes:1778738 (1.6 MiB) sit0 Link encap:IPv6-in-IPv4 NOARP MTU:1480 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) now that sit0 was not there when I had ndiswrapper-1.0rc2 on the screen, so ndiswrapper-1.0rc3 must have added that (am I right?) and last but not least, when I go to enter my essid into wlan0 it is not there. [root@localhost sbin]# /sbin/iwconfig wlan0 essid "RADIO" Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; No such device. when I typed in /sbin/insmod ./ndiswrapper.ko in the terminal responded with No such file or directory (I don't really know how to use it I guess) well, there's all the info i have right now, if you need anything else just ask. ndiswrapper-buginfo.gz is attached. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
