    Matt Beard - 2004-10-19

From time to time there will be large updates to check in to CVS.  Sometimes these check-ins can take a considerable time - especially if they involve merging versions.

To prevent two developers trying to check-in different large updates at the same time lock and unlock messages will be posted on this forum.

Anyone can add a "lock" here if the current state is "unlocked" - however the check-in must still comply with the rules for changes document in the project documentation.

Any lock that seems to have been in place for an excessive time is likely to be cleared by a project administrator.

If you are going to make a significant check-in (more that just a few lines in a few files) please check the lock status first as you may otherwise give the lockee a major merge-required headache.

I recommend you monitor this forum to get updates on locks.

All CVS is now locked pending merging of the Develop-EssenceRead branch.

This should take less than a day in total...

        All locks released.

The trunk now contains the most recent code which is basically what will be released as 0.5.0-Beta (once the automake files are adjusted)

        Develop-EssenceRead is now deprecated.
