test of Yaroslav patch

i just apply  Yaroslav's patch on cvs, build on linux debian sarge with java 
1.4.2.03 with no error.

i try the new option gzip and it's look work fine for me and a little bit more 
fast, (an impress).

thank for this options and bug correction.
