You have the same problem as Matt Open the mplayerplug-in configuration dialog and uncheck "RTSP use TCP" (or something like that) or add this to ~/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf rtsp-use-tcp=0 BTW, you really should not have checked that option unless you know that is what you need.
