Hi all, I have a spca5xx based usb webcam. The picture in spcaviewer is excelent, but in motion is very very dark. I have tried to use different valuse for brightness and contrast parameters without luck. There is anything else I can do? Thank you, Dan |

I have tried different values in threadx (the thread for that specific camera) without success. I have another USB cam (Philips ToU Cam Pro - first version, pwc based) which work perfect in motion without the need to set those values manualy. I think is somehow related with theway motion access the camera through the driver. With another spca based cam (different sensor) I have succeed getting decent images by manually set the RED, GREEN and BLUE black level and gain in the modprobe.conf file. That is only supported in motion svn -r148 and above with v4L2. Maybe i'm wrong and Stream means internal native format i should look in the driver. Anyway ... How do you load the module, which parameters did you setup ? If there's a parameter to enable debug , please try to enable on load module and check the messages when motion set brightness, contrast and so on .
