It seems they play the same for me in Quicktime Player, ffplay, and melt built with FFmpeg. I have not tested it with libav. If there is a problem, it must be a very subtle like only occasionally a dropped frame. I assume siince you wrote "strange" that the problem you see is more gross than subtle. > What could be causing these hickups? So far I only expirienced the behaviour with files from this particular camera. I also expirience the same stuttering behaviour when transcoding the h264 stream to prores. > Even the prores.mov looks mostly the same between all 3 said players. Before I give this any more attention, you need to do a more compelling job of convincing me there is a problem. For example, you said the prores transcode exhibits the problem as well, but you have not said how you transcoded it or what all media players you played it in to narrow it down to a melt-specific problem. Perhaps another thing to do is test playback in one of my binary builds of Shotcut. > 10Sek samples at: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t0nd097xmfn8907/fJy15kz1Pg > > > > avprobe version v0.8-4074-g4caa1bf, Copyright (c) 2007-2012 the Libav developers > built on Dec 3 2012 13:50:31 with llvm-gcc 4.2.1 (LLVM build 2336.9.00) > Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from '001_packtools/ZN1A0055.MOV': > Metadata: > major_brand : qt > minor_version : 537331968 > compatible_brands: qt CAEP > creation_time : 2012-08-08 10:41:37 > Duration: 00:00:18.08, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 30697 kb/s > Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264 (High), yuvj420p, 1920x1080 [PAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 29252 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 25k tbn > Metadata: > creation_time : 2012-08-08 10:41:37 > Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: pcm_s16le, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 1536 kb/s > Metadata: > creation_time : 2012-08-08 10:41:37 > Stream #0.2(eng): Data: tmcd / 0x64636D74, 0 kb/s > Metadata: > creation_time : 2012-08-08 10:41:37 > Unsupported codec with id 0 for input stream 2 > # avprobe output > > best regards -- +-DRD-+ |
