Hi, Attached is an updated internet_ip_update.pl file. It *should* be a drop in replacement for the one in the distribution. It requires the pre/post processing stuff Frank wrote and I sent to Bruce today so won't be usable until a release of MH which contains those changes. There are two new features and two feature 'tweaks': a) Support for emailing when the server's IP changes. If you wish to receive email of the change, add the following to your config file (it sends via the default mail configuration using net_mail_send) ip_update_email=ema...@do... b) The updating of a web page via FTP only occurs if $net_www_server is set. For those (like Bruce) using this feature, this will already be set. For those who aren't (like me) MH will no longer attempt the ftp and error. c) The Tk edit field is now displayed/updated at startup in addition to every minute. d) The system will now try to detect your IP address by remote query if the below config file entry is defined. This is usefull if your running MH on an internal network in a NAT/IpMasquerade scenario and want to report the IP address of the NAT/IpMasquerade box and not the internal address. The config entry should be exactly as below (keep the domain the same). I will, over time, identify additional servers we can use (and update the response parsing accordingly). If this entry is not added, the code uses get_ip_address as before. ip_update_url=http://ipid.shat.net Bill |
