So I just got a DVD Anywhere from X10.com, neat little device. Anyway, I looked at their Boom software, not too functional, only for Windows..... So I downloaded Realtime ComLite32, hooked up the RF based that comes with the MP3 Remote and started to push buttons. ComLite32 is very cool BTW. Just about all the buttons had a unique 5 byte sequence, and the remote has a pretty good range (from attic to basement, in a 2 1/2 story house), so I'm going to (time/wife permitting) to create a module for MH so the remote can be used, reports as I go. BTW, from reading a recent LJ acticle, the codes are different than those generated by the old Mouse Remote. One interesting thing I noticed (and my reason for posting, and that it's been too quite on the list lately) is that the RF base for the remote also picked up X10 RF transmitter signals from things like the Palm Pad, motion sensors, ...... I haven't thoroughly checked, but all the house/unit/on/off combos look to be reported as unique byte sequences by the MP3 RF base. So it looks like X10 has created a X10 receiver that's not a TM751 or RR501 transceiver, this could be handy. It makes sense, X10 seems to be in the repackage existing products business lately.
