Legacy? I have an old spare 486SL laptop that only has 16meg of memory that I plan on using as my misterhouse server. The nice part is it is small so it can be mounted on the wall next to my relays, amps and power supplies and not take up too much space. It will of course be running Linux. I am hoping it will work out but am worried about the text to speech stuff being too slow like you said. Have you tried ViaVoice Outloud instead of festival? On my fast server ViaVoice seems to take less CPU than festival. I plan on trying it out hopefully this week. I'll let you know how it goes. Dave Lounsberry EMAIL: dlo...@kc...
