Joel, look at that link I sent in my last post. Did you fork my repo? You should do that first. That should make a copy of my repo for you under your github username. You will then do the clone to pull that repo to your machine so you can work on it. From there if you make changes you will do: git add . git commit -m "Some notes on the changes you made" git push origin master This will take any changes you made and push them out to your fork of my repo on github. If you then want to have me include those changes in my master trunk of the code, you will do a pull request which will tell me that you have changes that you want included.
